COMMERCIAL LITIGATION & APPELLATE ADVOCACY

The Firm's commercial litigation and appellate advocacy practice encompasses all aspects of commercial relationships, including disputes involving employment, business dissolutions, infringement of intellectual property and other business disputes. Many of the Firm's other practice areas are synergistic with its commercial litigation practice.

We represent clients in litigation involving public and closely held corporations, as well as corporate officers, directors and shareholders, including matters involving corporate control, , shareholder appraisal rights, contract disputes, employment agreements, covenants not to compete, financial transactions and bankruptcy-related disputes. We also represent partnerships, partners and sole proprietors in similar types of commercial litigation.

In addition to our commercial litigation practice in the state and federal courts, the Firm is able to handle declaratory judgments, preliminary injunctions, alternative dispute resolution, arbitrations, mini-trials and mediation proceedings.

Our attorneys have handled treble damage cases for clients arising under the RICO statute, as well as class action lawsuits against businesses for violation of various state consumer protection laws in connection with the advertising and merchandising of their products and services.

The Firm’s appellate advocacy practice is equally well-established. The Firm’s attorneys have perfected numerous appeals in the state and federal courts on a number of notable matters. Even in those matters where the Firm has been retained solely to perfect an appeal, our attorneys can review the trial record to craft an appellate strategy that maximizes the chances of affirmance or reversal of the result below, even where the case presents issues of first impression.
